It Is An Alternative To Patients Who Cannot Stand The CPAP Machine
Sleep apnea is usually treated with CPAP machines. These create a positive air pressure, forcing it into the lungs. Even though it has an almost perfect 100% success rate, it is not comfortable and half of the patients cannot stand it. An alternative to it is an implant that stimulates the tongue and other muscles around it.
