However, Patients Are Not Always Aware They Have Sleep Apnea    




A study has shown that sleep apnea sufferers that also have Type 2 diabetes, increase the risk of blindness due to diabetic retinopathy, which is the leading cause of blindness. Even though diabetics can develop this eye condition, they are not always aware of obstructive sleep apnea, which happens when the patient is sleeping, and it can be undiagnosed.
